Designed with the knowledge that ‘developing your students’ in 2018 extends to both digital and physical environments. Our staff workshops provide participants with a snapshot of the digital contexts in which contemporary students participate, highlight the associated risks with social media use, and equip staff with strategies to support safe and productive technology use in the school environment.
At the end of each session, all attendees are provided with a digital folder containing follow-up resources for staff.
Topics covered in a 60 minute session include:
Introduction to the major social media platforms that children and teenagers are currently using.
Current research regarding effective cyber bullying response and management.
Overview of cyber safety risks, including review of developmental impacts of screen time and inappropriate content.
How to approach cyber safety in the classroom, including insights into useful teaching resources.
